PTW harnesses the power of the sun. On the roofs of our buildings at PTW HQ and QRM, we have photovoltaic (PV) systems installed with a total power of approximately 242 kWp. This is enough potential energy to cover about 25 % of the electricity needs on these sites – equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 55 four-person households. Our PV system has led to a reduction of over 600 tons of CO2e emissions in the past 10 years. Additional rooftop photovoltaic installations are currently being evaluated as part of our ongoing energy management activities.

Furthermore, all the electricity purchased from external providers at PTW HQ, QRM and PTW Iberia has been sourced from certified renewable electricity. Our mechanical manufacturing facility in Umkirch, part of PTW HQ, uses waste heat from machinery to support the building’s heating system.

Together with annual internal energy audits and other energy-related measures, these activities support the ongoing management of energy consumption across our sites.
