This updated 2025 Environmental Declaration revises and expands upon the content of the 2024 edition. It introduces our updated environmental policy, which sets principles and priorities for responsible resource use, greenhouse gas reduction and continuous improvement across our operations.

The declaration also reflects key developments, including the transition to 100% certified renewable electricity at our Freiburg and Umkirch sites, resulting in lower Scope 2 emissions. Alongside updated figures on energy, water and material consumption, the document provides information on how we monitor and manage environmental aspects and impacts within our operations.

While the declaration fulfills EMAS requirements, it also provides transparent information on our environmental objectives, measures and performance, complementing our ISO 14001-certified environmental management system.

Our Environmental Declaration provides an overview of our environmental management activities and resource management practices. It presents planned environmental measures and objectives, together with key metrics on energy, water and material consumption as well as information on emissions, waste and biodiversity-related topics. The declaration is intended to provide transparent information on our environmental performance and management approach.

While the declaration is a formal requirement of EMAS, it also summarizes the environmental analyses, processes and management systems implemented within PTW HQ. These formed the basis for our EMAS validation and the ISO 14001 certification. Together, these external recognitions confirm that our environmental management system has been independently assessed against the requirements of both frameworks.
