PTW harnesses the power of the sun. On the roofs of our buildings, we have photovoltaic (PV) systems installed with a total power of 230 kWp. This is enough potential energy to cover about 25 % of PTW‘s electricity needs – equivalent to continuously powering roughly 55 four-person households. Our PV system has led to a reduction of 425 tons of CO2e emissions since its inception, and is now the exclusive source of power for our fleet of electric vehicles. Excitingly, we plan to expand our rooftop solar panel installations further in the near future, solidifying our commitment to renewable energy.

Furthermore, as of 2024, all the electricity we purchase from external companies at PTW is sourced from green energy, reducing our Scope 2 CO2 emissions to zero.

Moreover, our mechanical manufacturing facility in Umkirch exemplifies our commitment to energy efficiency. From planning to construction, we've prioritized sustainable practices. We recycle machine exhaust for heating and have installed photovoltaic modules on rooftops to generate solar energy, enhancing our overall energy efficiency.
