In recent years, there have been many studies on the benefits of delivering a radiation dose to a tumor with a very high dose rate of at least 40 Gy/s (FLASH), see e.g. [1], [2]. Currently, a lot of research & development effort is focused on moving on from these studies to routinely available clinical treatments using electron and proton radiation.
